Big Bang US Tour concert tickets being sold for up to $1500

Big Bang, one of the top k-pop groups, will begin their 6-show US tour in Las Vegas on October 2nd. Since this their first US tour since their latest album 'MADE' dropped, there is a massive demand for tickets on the secondary market. Scalpers are having a field day as they jack up prices to nearly 500% of the original ticket cost to make hefty profit margins.

The most expensive tickets of the tour are for the 2nd show, at the Staples center in LA on October 3rd. Tickets are currently being sold at an average of $650. The original ticket cost was only $179. However, seats in row 5 near the stage are being sold for $1500

Big Bang's upcoming MADE tour is said to be bigger and better than any previous Big Bang tour. Shows will be held in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Newark (2 nights), and Toronto.

Soldiers in Korea vote on their favorite girl groups and which idol they want to be their girlfriend

The girl group that makes soldiers' hearts flutter like no other is none other than AOA! The group took 1st place on a poll on the official ROK Army Facebook page that asked soldiers which group was their favorite. The results were as follows:

  1. AOA: 21.8% (327 votes)
  2. Girl's Day: 15.9% (239 votes)
  3. Red Velvet: 9.3% (139 votes)
  4. SNSD: 9% (135 votes)
  5. A Pink: 8.3% (125 votes)
  6. EXID: 8% (120 votes)

The soldiers were also asked which girl group member they wished was their girlfriend. In the past, Suzy was always one of the top answers, but now the rankings have changed completely. Here are the results:

  1. AOA Seolhyun: 14.3%
  2. EXID's Hani: 7.9%
  3. Girl's Day's Hyeri: 6.8%
  4. AOA's Choa: 6.6%
  5. SNSD's Taeyeon: 6.2%
The two top places are not surprisingly, with Hani and Seolhyun both being extremely popular and active in variety and CFs. Seems like AOA is the new military favorite!

This week's top cover song is a duet by 2 Big Bang fans who recorded a spectacular cover of Taeyang - Eyes, Nose, Lips. Although the original was sung by one person, the Cheni and Junga's harmonious voice blend perfectly in certain sections, but maintain their own unique, hard-to-forget style in the when they sing solo. Korean artists are completely DOMINATING Billboard's Top World Albums chart

Summer is usually the time in K-pop with the most comebacks. As a result, competition is fierce between the myriad of both girl and boy groups that strive to sell albums before their fans' wallets run dry so they can reach the number one spot. As of September 24th, 2015, 4 of the top 5 albums on Billboard's Top World Albums chart and 6 of the top 10 belong to Korean artists. The current top 5 are:

1. Be Boys - Seventeen
2. Celtic Thunder - Best of Celtic Thunder
3. 2gether - CN Blue
4. The Red: The 1st Album
5. The Day (EP) - DAY6

Shinee's Jonghyun's recent album, "The Collection: 'Story Op.1'" take the number 7 place on the chart. With so many Korean albums in the top 10, Korean music is undoubtedly becoming majorly popular around the world.

Speaking of Korean music, did you know there's a site where you can listen to all kinds of mixes, original songs, covers, upload your own tracks, and share your music with others? It's called RecordFarm and it's growing extremely rapidly Check it out by clicking the link below!

Easy SEO Guide - Twitter - Organically increase your follower count for free

Last time, we explained the basics of growing a Facebook page. Another essential part of any marketer's social marketing account repertoire is Twitter, where content is generated at a more rapid rate than any other location on the web.

Twitter is a very different beast from Facebook in many ways:

1. Content moves fast.
A new tweet will rapidly get pushed down the page by other tweets unless it gets a retweet.
2. Uncurated homepages. Whereas Facebook chooses content that it thinks you will enjoy, Twitter shows you everything from everyone you follow. The homepage will constantly update with new tweets if you have a lot of followers.

To get your tweet seen by many, the most important thing to aim for is retweets. Favorites are essentially worthless. The first step is writing a tweet, the second step is to get it spread out.

How to create an effective tweet

I have devised a layout for structuring my tweets to allow viewers to easily distinguish the important parts of each tweet. The design is as follows:
Line 1: Title (+ ironic hashtag)
Line 2: Link (Delete the "http://www" part. Optional: add "Read more" or "Video" before link)
Line 3: RT or other comment
Line 4: Hashtags
Attached photo

This separates the tweet into 4 rows with different colors: Black, blue, black, blue. By color-coding the lines, the information in the tweet is easier to read and viewers are less likely to skim it over. Relevant hashtags are also extremely important, but a photo is far more important. Photos can increase engagement by over 100%.

How to get your tweet seen

The goal of this section is to have big twitter accounts with large amounts of followers retweet your post. These accounts can belong to rivals in the industry, fans, regular people, people who have used your product, etc. Open up notepad and look through Twitter's recommended accounts to follow and write down the name of every account with over 1000 followers. Make sure to follow every one of those accounts as well.

To get your tweet spread, make a new tweet starting with "@LargeAccount". This will prevent the tweet from being on your page. Instead, it will show up in a different tab. Tag 1 account first, then ask them to check out the link and retweet. You can message each large account one at a time or add even more accounts to the end of the tweet until you run out of space. The tweet should look like this:

"@LargeAccount New product out: [LINK] Plz RT if you like it! :) @LargeAccount2 @LargeAccount3"

If they decide to retweet, then great! If not, keep trying other accounts.

Easy SEO on Facebook - Achieving Maximum Social Media Platform Effectiveness - Basic Lessons for Beginners

SEO sounds intimidating when first looked at, but it's really not too difficult of a concept to understand. The acronym stands for search engine optimization and encompasses a wide range of activities that deal with raising a site's standing when people search certain terms on Google or other search engines.

Whatever your website/business is about, social media pages are a requirement. However, different social media platforms require different approach strategies to achieve maximum effectiveness. We'll start with the largest:

Facebook

The king of social media, Facebook requires far more than simply posting links to your website on your page. You could buy ads on Facebook to reach more users, but I prefer a more organic, ground up, multi-pronged approach.

Step 1: Dissecting your post

Begin by searching the topic of your news article on Facebook. This could be one word, or a few words, which must be searched individually. Once you type it in the search bar, click "Pages", and then open any fan pages related to the topic. Copy the link to your website or the Facebook post (by clicking on the time stamp) and post in 2 places:

     1. On the Facebook page you just opened
     2. In a reply to the most liked comment or 2nd most liked comment on the most recent              post of the FB page you just opened, depending on which one has fewer replies.

By doing this, users will see your link when they click on "View more comments" and can follow the link to your page. Users following a link to your website or FB page will raise the search ranking of both.

Posting on FB pages of news sites yields the best results. The 1st comment is prime real estate and being lucky and quick enough to post it equals a few thousand or even million impressions for your brand or site.

Warning: To get around the spam filter on Facebook when posting a comment reply, post a few words (and maybe a smiley) before your link. You can react to the post, tell people your link is related, or say it's an "update" to the situation.

Step 2: Join FB Groups

Facebook groups are user created and can sometimes have thousands to tens of thousands of followers. Search ones that are related to your niche, state, country, whatever. Then join all those groups and post links to your website or FB page. The trick is to post in a manner that makes it seem legit, humanlike, and non-spammy. You could make a fake FB profile for this, but if you join too many groups too quickly, the account will be unable to post in groups for 1-2 weeks.

Another key to effective use of FB groups is the ability to edit the title, photo, and description when posting a link to a website. For my personal website, I enjoy making catchy titles, even though they may be misconstrued as clickbait. However, with FB groups, you can make the titles as clickbaity as possible to entice clicks and nobody will know that it was posted by the website owner, since FB Pages cannot post in groups (only actual profiles can). The website will be cleaner and have a higher reputation due to the lack of clickbait titles (even though you are secretly sharing in groups under a different name using clickbait titles).

Step 3: Message page owners

Although most will not respond, this can be an effective strategy to increase impressions, or if you get lucky, double or even triple your audience. What I did was find every fan page that was tangentially related to mind and send them a message asking me if I could become an admin to help post. While most of them didn't respond, I did become the admin of 3 new unofficial fan pages, 1 of which was the same size of my current page. Through some mass messaging, I over doubled my audience reach. Asking page owners to share your links if they find any interesting can also yield results.

Step 4: Link your FB page to your website

This can be done in the page settings.

Step 5: Branding and design

Change the cover and profile picture of your page to include your website logo or name. Having the full website name in the cover photo is a must. The profile picture can contain the logo or the full name.

Step 6: Effective posts

When a link is typed into the post on your Facebook page, 3 things will open in the post box: a photo, a title, and a description. If these don't show up, then refresh the page and type the link into the box again. If any of the info does not appear or is incorrect, then use the Facebook Developer scraping tool to figure out the problem. Although you can change the picture, title, and description box yourself, when other people share the link, they will see the original, unchanged, format. Nobody wants ugly links and if there's no photo, you might as well not even post. Problems with the link can be fixed by altering your website's Open Graph meta tags.

Facebook is not a standalone tool, meant to be used alone. It is merely one of many platforms that must be understood and mastered to be used to its full potential. There are more Facebook SEO tips, but those will be covered in Part 2. Look forward to upcoming Easy SEO guides for the following social media sites as well:

500 Startups Managing Director Khailee Ng and Tim Chae on Penetrating Southeast Asian Markets

Khailee Ng and Tim Chae, two business-builders turned venture capitalists, gave a talk about how startups can best penetrate Southeast Asian markets and make their offerings available to locals.

500 Startups is a worldwide company that invests in and aids startups by helping them expand their business and offering advice.

Khailee Ng, a native of Malaysia, created his first web product at 15 and started his own business at 24. The current managing director of 500 Startups, he says he feels the most alive when he is helping create new businesses. While expanding his current business to global markets, he also acts as a liaison between Silicon Valley and emerging markets. If you are interested in seeing what creative ideas Khailee is working on, check out his website at: http://khailee.com

Tim Chae, also a featured speaker, is a partner of 500 Startups. At 10 years old, he immigrated to the USA and started his first business at the age of 13. In 2009 he won the  NFIB/ McKelvey Youth Entrepreneur award and at 19 became a venture capitalist. He currently works as an investor, advisor, and connector in the Silicon Valley network, while also offering mentoring services to startups and giving them expert feedback. His work involves cultivating a competitive and active startup environment in Korea.

The two spoke onstage about strategies for pursuing the rapidly expanding Southeastern asian market, specifically in Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The first goal for expansion into any of these countries is major metropolitan areas. In cities, the infrastructure will already be sufficient to support nearly 100% smartphone penetration and most of the population will have either a phone, tablet, or computer. The cities to focus on are Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi.

Another interesting piece of advice given by Khailee about entering markets in Southeast Asia was to not worry about whether or not your product is unique. Even if one company is already successful in some countries, there are still many potential users that don't use it in the target country. Nearly all successful companies have clones that spring up hoping to capitalize on the success of the first mover. However, oftentimes the first mover in an industry will not be the most successful. In the case of social media sites, Facebook only rose to prominence after Myspace fell. And Myspace was created in response to social networking site Friendster.

The talk ended with a presentation of 5 different startups, which included a social network for celebrities, a secondhand clothing online customer-customer retailer, a cosmetics delivery company, and a service to find local, verified, English tutors in Korea.

One of the things I wish they had talked about more is the importance of programming. For example, what programming languages should entrepreneurs learn for the future, which are best for web/mobile development, which ones have helped them the most. To be honest, nearly every startup is built upon the backs of developers. Funding is important, but creating the product is the first step.

Startup RecordFarm.com also spoke with Tim and Khailee afterwards to discuss potential future business opportunities.

You Haven't Seen Kpop Until You've Seen It In 60 FPS

60 FPS? What's that? FPS stands for frames per second. A higher FPS rate makes video look more fluid, while a lower rate creates a choppy video. Around a year ago, 60 FPS k-pop videos gained popularity after a Korean user uploaded a 60 FPS version of Girl's Day's 'Darling' on his blog. This MV is so smooth it makes me feel like I'm actually on set with them.

Darling MV in 60 FPS: girlstory.kr/girlstory/7625

The video was soon posted on Reddit.com where other users began to create and upload their own 60 FPS music videos. Not long after that, YouTube began allowing 60 FPS video uploads, much to the delight of k-pop fans worldwide. There are even channels that upload K-pop videos in 60 FPS almost daily. Here are 2 channels with a large amount of uploads:

Check out the mind-blowing smoothness for yourself!

AOA's Like A Cat MV in 60 FPS

U-KISS - Don't Flirt MV In 60 FPS

With 60 FPS, K-pop music videos have entered an entirely new, amazing realm of visual stimulation. But there's more! In addition to music videos, many fancams are filmed in native 60 FPS, while most music videos are interpolated, which means that extra frames were added inbetween existing frames after filming.

Here's a live fancam of Fiestar filmed in native 60 FPS:

Fiestar Jei - You're Pitiful 60 FPS fancam

Mindblowing, right? Popular fancammers incude Spinel and Pharkil. In fact, some groups are known mostly from fancams, like Bambino.

60 FPS is not without it's detractors, however. While most are fine with 60 FPS fancams, some take issue with 60 FPS music videos because the conversion process often leaves unwanted artifacts to show up and can lower the resolution.

Whatever the case, I'm going to continue enjoying ultra-smooth videos in 60 FPS.
